Exhibition of the works by sculptor Wilhelm Senoner
16th March - 17th May 2022
Milan, Italy
Exhibition 'I guardiani delle montagne', curated by Jean Blanchaert was opened in collaboration with architecture and interior design studio Lamonarca upon reservation.
Wilhelm Senoner - sculptor and painter - was born in Ortisei in Val Gardena on 3.6.1946, where he lives and works. Ortisei is a town where there is a long tradition of wood carvers. During his childhood, he learned to carve all kinds of objects, figures and animals and became passionate about sculpting. During his apprenticeships, he learned to carve swiss pine wood, a very soft wood but with hard branches. He took inspiration from the Gothic to derive his artistic style. He mainly works for himself, constantly trying to find meaning in his life through his works.
The event included the inauguration and presentation of the book published by Skira and edited by Philippe Daverio.
